Tea Talk: Where No One is Late For Tea

It's been a long day and I was glad to have stopped over at my favorite Japanese restaurant to have some tea with my dear husband.

I'm having...(I just had) a steaming hot Japanese green tea.

My cup is this tiny pink one shown in the picture. I felt relaxed after I finished all tea in that fun teapot.

I'm feeling quite overwhelmed by the things I need to do. I know I'll be fine though.

On my mind is the mental list of things to do. It's a long one. I need to get them down on paper. Maybe there are things I don't really need to do, or just need to be delegated.

There's nothing going on in my little garden except for:
Some fruits left in my pomegranate tree

A ginger vine in bloom
The little mulberry bush I've planted is bearing fruit again!
Though my garden often brings pleasant feeling when I see blooms, there are times when I don't see any sign of fruitfulness or budding activity at all. When you are a gardener, you know that seasons come and seasons go so you just have to let it be, work faithfully as you can but not depend your feelings on what you see.

Though the fig tree does not bud and there are not grapes on the vine, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful  in God my savior.
Habakkuk 3:17-18

  1. You have pomegranates?? Someone just told me about a pomegranate/apple crisp recipe (gluten-free) that was delicious. And they're so expensive here!

I'm feeling overwhelmed, too, but let's keep our focus on the Lord (I'm talking to myself, too!). His grace is sufficient.

Thanks for sharing that Bible verse--it is a frequently read one here, too. :)

    Love,

  2. Ruth, what wise words! "work faithfully as you can but not depend your feelings on what you see."
To me, that is the definition of faith!

God bless you! (And the ginger flowers photo was lovely.)

  3. Hi Ruth~ Yes, there are always a million things to do, aren't there? When I make my list, sometimes I pray (probably should be always and not sometimes) "Lord, what do you want me to do on this list? Please live your life through me." He always answers.

Love to you today. Oh, sorry I am late. (again).

  4. I know the feeling of being overwhelmed with things to do. Sometimes, it can be a little maddening. I pray that you will find some relief.

I appreciated what you said about gardening, and how sometimes, as a gardener, you feel sad when you don't see any fruitfulness from the trees. As I read that, I was thinking about our lives as well - how we become sad when we don't see any "fruit" bearing in our lives. But like the gardener, we have to keep working on our garden faithfully and not just go by what we feel.

I found your Tea Time blog today through my friend Mrs. Santos at "The Santos Times." Looks like a nice place. :)
